Spring calf health clinics available across Oklahoma

As part of the Oklahoma Quality Beef Network (OQBN), the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) is offering a series of Spring Calf Health Clinics across Oklahoma in May. These clinics provide beef farmers and ranchers an opportunity to learn how to add value to their herd through the Oklahoma Quality Beef Network, information on how to improve their vaccine program and an opportunity for Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification.

National Land and Range Judging contest to be held May 5

The 69th National Land and Range Judging Contest that will attract students from across the nation to the Oklahoma City area on May 5, 2022 is back. After a two-year layoff because of the pandemic, the national competition is back. For the 2019 competition, students –– as well as their coaches and sponsors –– traveled from more than 30 states to Oklahoma for the prestigious event. The interview opportunities with students and leaders are great and the visuals are outstanding as students not only study the surface, but also go down into trenches that are about 4 feet deep.

Promise shown in new physical therapy treatment for MS symptoms

An Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation physical therapist has developed a new treatment regimen for multiple sclerosis that appears to enhance mobility without causing fatigue. “The results need to be confirmed in a larger study, but they suggest possible improvement upon current intervention methods,” said Bobbette Miller, who treats patients at OMRF’s Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence and the University of Oklahoma Medical Center.

RAMS blast 18 hits against Dale...

In back-to-back games Thursday evening, the Rattan RAMS put up 29 points against the Soper Red Bears last week while preventing any runs from crossing home plate. Rattan won the first game 16-0 with Seth Springfield on the hill tossing a no-hitter.
