Funeral services for Jerry Paul Belvin, of Boswell, Okla., were held Friday, May 22, 2026 at Choctaw Nation Veterans Cemetery. Jerry Paul Belvin, 77, passed on from this life on May 16, 2026, at his residence in Boswell.
It’s Hugo Rodeo and Homecoming time here in Choctaw County and that means it’s time to sharpen up the story telling and ways to embellish old stories that have grown better with time. Back in February, when NonDoc announced a May 28 gubernatorial debate ahead of the Republican primary election, we established a 12% public polling threshold for participation. A Jan. 28-29 poll from CHS & Associates showed Gentner Drummond, Charles McCall, Mike Mazzei and Chip Keating — the four candidates, who are raising and spending millions of dollars on their campaigns, each qualifying above the 12% mark.
One question will appear on the June 16, 2026, Primary Election Ballot. It was placed on the ballot by gathering signatures from citizens. The question is reprinted here as it will appear on the ballot followed by a brief summary prepared by the Oklahoma Press Association.
The Raymond Gary Lake Association (RGLA) hosted its second annual Ladies’ Spring Tea on Saturday, May 9 at the Historic Wilson House in Fort Towson. The event was a tremendous success and a beautiful celebration of fellowship, history and community spirit.
