Charles Leon “Bootlegger” Creacy
Charles Leon “Bootlegger” Creacy, 83, passed away on May 3, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, stubborn opinions, questionable decisions and enough memories to keep his family laughing for generations. Charles was born on Oct. 1, 1942 to Lindey Lee “Dobbin” Creacy and Ester Mosell (Cladwell) Creacy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Thomas Creacy; his sister, Mary Ann Parker; and two former wives: Ruby Creacy and Teressa Creacy.
He is survived by his brother, Jerry Creacy and wife, Jean of Hugo; his son, Terry L. Creacy of Fort Towson; his daughter, Debbie Self and husband, Kelly of Fort Towson; Kyle Creacy of Powderly; Leslie Price and husband, Jeremy of Powderly; Alicia Perry and husband, Steven of Paris; and a great number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and others who were fortunate enough to either love him, argue with him, or both.
Charles spent many years behind the wheel as a truck driver for Midcoe Transportation and also had a short stint driving a concrete truck for David Buster Concrete. He was a man who could haul freight, pour concrete, tell a story, stir the pot, and somehow still make it home with another tale no one was quite sure was completely true.
Known to many as “Bootlegger,” Charles was truly one of a kind. He was unfiltered, unpredictable, and, at times, completely unhinged –– but he was also unforgettable. In true Charles fashion, he seemed to get along better with his ex-wives after the divorces than during the marriages, proving that distance, paperwork, and separate households can do wonders for a relationship.
Due to the lack of surviving ex-wives, the family did not have enough pallbearers. Therefore, in accordance with his wishes, Charles will be cremated.
There will be no formal service. However, the family will hold a celebration of life at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026 at First Assembly- Life Center, 1176 US Hwy 271 S, Hugo, OK 74743, where stories will be shared, laughs will be had, and at least a few people will probably say, “I can’t believe he did that.”
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Paris, Texas, who cared for Charles. Your kindness, patience, and compassion meant more than words can say.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations of personal items such as clothing, blankets, or similar necessities be made to Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Paris, Texas, in Charles’ memory.
The family has entrusted the care of Charles Leon Creacy to Roden-Pryor Funeral Directors, 1929 Bonham Street, Paris, TX 75460.
