William’s name was special to his parents –– William was in honor of a friend of his parents, William Gray who died young. Jack after his great-great-grandfather, Jack Jeter. And Wayne after his father and his paternal grandfather, Curtis Wayne Hearn.

William was a mischievous little boy growing up, who liked to make people smile. He overcame obstacles rather than letting them stop him. When he was in the third grade, he learned how to operate the washing machine by reading the directions on the lid because something he wanted to wear was in the dirty clothes. He thoroughly researched the complete process before starting any project. He enjoyed school and attended various schools in early life, later graduating from Hugo High School in the class of 2024. William liked to spend time outside, especially with his loved ones, playing basketball, fishing, or riding bikes or scooters or whatever item was laying around awaiting to be included in his shenanigans. He was a gamer and loved to play Fortnite with his friends. William also enjoyed rapping and even wrote some rap tunes. In addition to hip-hop, he listened to Country music a lot, saying they had better love songs than other styles of music. He grew into his own style with his expensive shoes and name brand underwear, refusing to wear anything cheap!

William worked hard to support his family and was a loving father to his son who was born Nov. 7, 2024, the joy of his life! He knew church was important and said he wanted to raise little William Jr. in church with Granny. William always had everyone’s best interest in mind. Willing to help his grandparents with anything they needed –– oil changes, lawn mowing, or moving heavy things. Taking care of his siblings even in the toughest of times. Standing up for what was right.

Another prize in his life, the 1995 Mustang convertible that he and his brother, Tristen re-built. William’s final touch was a new convertible top. He could accomplish anything he set his mind to.
