The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has declined the Southeast Oklahoma Power Corporation’s (SEOPC) attempt to gain a permit to construct a multi-billion dollar power generation facility on the upper reaches of the Kiamichi River in Southeast Oklahoma.

Cold weather chills Buffalo bats...

There’s nothing unusual about cold and rainy March and April weather, but the Hugo Buffaloes haven’t been able to get their bats out of the cold weather doldrums. The Buffaloes took a 10-1 loss from the Durant Lions at the Atoka Wood Bat Tournament ahead of last week’s monsoon and return of near-winter weather.
MALIKI GILLEAN has been one of the Hugo Buffaloes’ most prolific hitters in the current season. He is tied with Jayka Santillan (below) for slugging honors with two home runs for the Buffaloes. He also has a .280 batting average with a .486 OBP rating which leads the team. Santillan (below) has also been a consistant hitter for the Buffaloes and currently leads the team with a .388 batting average and a commanding .475 OBP. Hugo News Photo / Stan Stamper

As a Hugo alumna and a current teacher of nine years, I’m honored to take on the role of head coach and help reignite this sport for our students and community. Tennis has long been a part of Hugo’s athletic tradition, and we’re excited to bring that legacy back to life.

Buffaloes claim a pair of wins over Antlers

ANTLERS — The Hugo Buffaloes extended their winning streak to four games Monday, posting a pair of Ws over Black & Blue rivals Antlers. But it wasn’t a walk in the Bearcat ball park, as the Cats battled the Buffaloes to a close 1413 tally after six innings, before the Buffs’ hitters started seeing the ball in the seventh, putting up six runs while giving up one to Antlers… posting a 20-14 win.
