Good evening. Tonight, we remember the accomplished and cherished life of John Knox Bounds, a man known for his intelligence, kindness, fascinating character, and analytical mind. Born on Jan. 17,1949 in Hugo, Okla., John’s journey through life was one marked by dedication, love and a relentless pursuit of knowledge. It is with a heavy heart that we announce his passing on Sept. 1, 2024, in Hugo, Okla., due to a tragic accident.

Funeral services for Dorothy Louise Hughes, of Ringold, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024 at Sobol Baptist Church in Sobol, Okla. Dorothy passed away Aug. 27, 2024, at the age of 89. Dorothy Louise (Miller) Hughes was born on Sept. 30, 1934 in Newkirk, Okla., the daughter of Frank Lewis Miller and Margaret Louise (Matney) Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gordon Miller; sister, Wanda Ensey and stepson, John Hughes.

Graveside services for Michael Eugene Bates, of Fort Towson, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 at Fort Towson Cemetery. Michael passed away Aug. 18, 2024, at the age of 65. Michael Eugene Bates was born on Oct. 7, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to O.D. Clayton Bates and Catherine Elizabeth (Jobe) Bates. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clayton Bates; sister, Barbara Alvarez; a nephew, Charles Bates and a great-niece.

Kevin Lee Farnsworth, known affectionately to friends and family as Farney, had the kind of infectious laugh that could fill a room with warmth and the kind of adventurous spirit that could fill a life with unforgettable stories. Born on the last day of 1990 in Paris, Texas, Kevin embraced the world with open arms until his untimely departure on Aug. 22, 2024 in Calera, Okla., following a car accident. He was a man whose courage and friendliness knew no bounds, and his absence will be felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
