TALIHINA — The Hugo Buffaloes smacked the Broken Bow Savages in the finals of the Talihina Invitational Tournament over the weekend, 57-38, to bring home the championship iron and move up into the No. 3 position in the Oklahoma 3-A basketball ratings.

Owens recently led the team in a solid 54-31 win over the Red Bears of Soper with 24 offensive points. He is also aggressive on defense and pulls down more than his share of rebounds.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield threw 28 completions on 47 attempts for 343 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Cleveland Browns’ 47-42 loss to the Baltimore Ravens Monday night. Mayfield also ran five times for 23 yards and a touchdown.

Buffs and Lady Buffs make statement in Broken Bow Tourney

BROKEN BOW — The Hugo Buffaloes blazed through the Broken Bow Classic this past weekend with both the boys and girls teams emerging victorious. The boys defeated Wright City, 76-61 to advance to the finals over host Broken Bow, while the girls beat the Lady Jax 56-50 to advance.

State 2A playoffs down to four teams

HUGO — The 2A-6 District Champion Eufaula Ironheads, the only District team alive in the playoffs last week have been eliminated. Their Friday loss to OK Christian School in the quarterfinals will pit OK Christian against Metro Christian in the semis.
