A“ballot broker” boasts about keeping hundreds of absentee ballots in his car trunk. He brags about them being filled in by people other than the voters. Often, money changes hands. Witnesses tie the rampant fraud to the campaign chairman of a prominent member of the radical “squad” in the U.S. House. Loose election laws allow people to come from out of state, vote, and then leave again.
State Question 805 seeks to change the Oklahoma Constitution to prohibit the use of prior criminal convictions to increase the range of punishment for repeat offenders. This prohibition against sentence enhancements applies to ALL felonies, except the 52 “violent crimes” as defined on Jan. 1, 2020. By enshrining SQ 805 in the Constitution, these prohibitions can only be changed with a subsequent vote of the people. The Oklahoma District Attorneys Association voted unanimously to oppose SQ 805. As President of the Association, I want to ensure citizens understand what SQ 805 actually does.
Graveside service for Linda McAdams will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla., under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home. Linda went to be with the Lord on Sept. 27, 2020 in Lawton, Okla., at the age of 70.
Eva Lee Heady, 92, of Hugo, Okla., passed away on Sept. 25, 2020 at Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020 in the First Assembly of God Church with Keithen Brown officiating. Burial took place at Goodland Cemetery.
