Acie Leon Shehan passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025 at his home in Fort Towson, Okla. Born to A.C. Shehan and Mary Taylor on Dec. 29, 1932 in Grant, Okla. Acie’s life was one marked by devotion and service –– an honorable veteran of the U.S. Army, he later parlayed his discipline and meticulous nature into a successful career as a computer programmer at Otis Energy, from which he retired after many dedicated years. His educational journey saw him graduate from high school, complete two years of college, and continuously seek out new knowledge and experiences.

Winnie Charlene (Adams) Tollett passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 84. Born on Jan. 2, 1941 in Sobol, Okla., Charlene was the cherished daughter of Doyle and Ola Mae (Lovelace) Adams. She was a proud graduate of Rattan High School, Class of 1958.

Funeral services for Sue Donna Hampton, of Hugo, Okla., were held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Restland Cemetery in Boswell. Sue Donna Hampton was born in Bennington, Okla., on Sept. 14, 1939 and entered her heavenly home on May 28, 2025 in Hugo, at the age of 85. She was the daughter of Jodie and Grace Hampton. Sue lived her high school years in Boswell and after graduating from Boswell High School, she moved to Dallas, Texas, where she lived for 36 years. She later moved to Sherman, Texas, in 1994 and lived there for seven years before retiring in 2001 and moving back to Boswell. She moved to Durant, Okla., in 2012. She was a member of the Boswell Baptist Church.

Elizabeth Clark, fondly known as Lisa, a strong woman of love and faith, peacefully passed away on May 27, 2025 in Austin, Ark., at the age of 72. Born on Nov. 19, 1952 in Bakersfield, Calif., Lisa’s life was a testament to her enduring love for her family and her unwavering commitment to her faith.

Leslie Burton Dawson, lovingly known as Les by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on Aug. 5, 1944 in Klamath Falls, Ore., Les was a man of intelligence, adventure and boundless creativity. He spent his final moments in Hugo, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.

Albert B. Meyer, Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 78, in his hometown of Hugo, Okla. Born on Sept. 6, 1946 in Hugo, Albert lived a life marked by kindness, dedication and a love for his community. Albert was a man of deep faith and unwavering values. He graduated from Hugo High School and worked in Hugo as a barber for 11 years before joining the Hugo Fire Department. He later moved to Muskogee and spent 32 years there working track rail maintenance for the Frisco Railroad. It was upon his return to Hugo that he met the love of his life, Ruth Adams. The couple united in marriage on Jan. 24, 2012 in Dallas, Texas, and together they created a home filled with laughter and love.
